On July 6 to 21, 17 selected students from Confucius Institute at Vilnius University and affiliated education centers attended a two-week summer camp themed by “Chinese Dream &Liaoning University Impression” in China.

Since these students had studied some Chinese language and were infatuated with Chinese culture, they were eager to come to China and see it themselves. By a lucky coincidence, the summer camp provided them with such an opportunity.

When arrived in Beijing, they first visited Confucius Institute Headquarters/Hanban and presented a friendship tree made up of chrysophoron to Hanban to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Confucius Institute. During the following three days, the students visited not only the ancient heritages such as the Great Wall, Temple of Heaven, the Imperial Palace, the Summer Palace and South Luogu Lane but also some modern architecture like majestic Tiananmen Square and Bird's Nest. In addition, they watched Beijing Opera and tasted Roast Duck, experiencing real Chinese culture and Beijing’s flavor.

In Shenyang, Liaoning University offered them special Chinese classes. Each day, they got to know new parts of Chinese culture. Colorful cultural experience such as learning Beijing Opera, tea art, calligraphy and Chinese painting were accompanied by several cultural tours like visiting Expo Park, Provincial Museum, Imperial Art Academy and Citizen Culture Square, etc. With great curiosity and motivation, the students took immense pains to absorb various knowledge.

When the camp drew to a close, some international students and Chinese students of Liaoning University got together to hold a party. Especially, students from Lithuania sang a song “Auld Lang Syne” in Chinese to express their love for Chinese and their friendship with teachers and friends there, which deeply impressed the camp students.
