We celebrated Chinese New Year by organizing a quiz game for kids in our institute.
The participants were kids, who study Chinese language in Vilnius schools and Confucius institute. Some of them, wore red clothes, which created even greater celebration environment, because in Chinese culture, red color symbolizes luck. During New Year, the main focus is on the red color.
In the quiz game, 30 kids demonstrated their knowledge about Chinese language, culture and geography. They competed for the first place and interacted with other kids who have the same interests. The students were really creative with their team names. One of them – tangerines, which perfectly matched with the festival symbolism. In Chinese culture, during New Year, citrus fruits are one of the most important gifts.
All the participants got small presents for showing their knowledge. During the event, we were enjoying some Chinese sweets, interacting and taking pictures with each other. We also expressed our wishes.
