On December 14th public lecture “Immunity in Chinese medicine” was held online. Lecture was hosted by doctor, acupuncture specialist, doctor of medical science Dainius Butvilas, who had internship in China Tianjin university of traditional Chinese medicine and currently practices Chinese medicine in Lithuania. In the lecture the concept of immunity in modern and traditional Chinese medicine was discussed, main principles of Chinese medicine – balance and flow were presented.

A lot of attention has been paid to the explanation of the base of traditional Chinese medicine – vital energy of Qì 氣and its main types. Presenter answered the questions such as how, in perspective of Chinese medicine, human body is connected with nature, how weather conditions and diet affect our health, which organs and their functions are being considered strongly influential for our immunity.

Presenter comes to conclussions that in order to strenghen or calm reactions of immune system it is crucial to effectively heal illnesses that already exists, to know and follow Qì 氣energy flow cycle, engage in various physical and emotional self-development practices and stay in harmony with cyclically changing nature. Listeners were presented a completely different explanation of well-being and immunity formed by traditional Chinese medicine, provided with specific recommendations for improving health, diet, physical activity and massage technique practices.

Listeners not only had the opportunity to see their health from a different point of view, but also learn about unique methods for strengthening immunity, which might have become new useful habits.
